under blue skies?
The sleep of the lily comes fast.
Spring/summer cusps
New seas.
Aviaries, locked down, little sparrows fed.
What colour is water
under winter grizzle?
A pouring, sadness paved.
When do flowers know it’s time to bloom
and when do babies?
Do they wait for calm and order?
Or a moment of built-up chaos
no longer contained?
A moment to burst in love
and sugar and water.
